NL 10: Prof. Dr. Hans Piloty (recorded)

The professional estate of Prof. Piloty (*1894 - †1969) covers the period from 1946 to 1967. It includes documents related to Prof. Piloty's teaching and research activities at the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the TH Munich, as well as administrative records from his tenure as rector of the THM. In 1931, Prof. Piloty was appointed as a full professor of electrical engineering at the THM and became the head of the measurement laboratory at the Electrical Engineering Institute. From 1948 to 1951, he was elected three times to serve as rector of the THM for one-year terms each. From 1956 to 1959, Prof. Piloty further contributed to academic self-administration as dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. He was honored with numerous awards for his academic achievements, including the Bavarian Order of Merit.
