The private estate of Prof. Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (*1911 - †2000) spans from 1986 to 2000. It mainly consists of personal documents, including letters, various newspaper articles, and photos. In 1952, Prof. Maier-Leibnitz was appointed to the Chair of Physics at the Technical University of Munich. He is internationally recognized as a pioneer in German neutron physics. He received numerous awards for his research. The TUM honors individuals with the Maier-Leibnitz Medal in recognition of their scientific achievements, which have contributed significantly to the university as educators and researchers.
