The student's private estate of Prof. Hohenner, covering the period from 1897 to 1905, contains directories compiled by him of the elevation marks and fixed points of precision leveling in Bavaria. Prof. Hohenner studied geodesy at the Technische Hochschule München from 1892 to 1894. From 1896, he worked there as a scientific assistant and was appointed as a lecturer in geodesy in 1898. In 1902, he accepted a position as an associate professor in Stuttgart.
